The Temple is the generic name for The Temple of the Eight Roots (known on Earth as The Temple of New life.)
The Temple of the Eight Roots
Beliefs & Teachings:
The Temple’s beliefs are gnostic in nature. The structure is a hierarchical matriarchy, with a pseudo-priest class, called Order of Sofia. They profess to believe that all is illusion, and that the sheep must be led into the future. In practice, most are scientists and teachers.
Political Tendency
Politically, the Temple is on the left side of the spectrum, generally associated with the Mutualists, although there are conservative and reactionary factions, as well.
The Temple of New Life (Earth)
The Temple of New Life has its origins on Earth as an RPG. It was concieved and designed by The Temple Of The Eight Roots, a religious group allied with the Mutualist Tendency in The Convergence. Its rites, rituals, and hierarchy mirror that of its Convergence creators.
History
The Temple was created to guide immigrants to Sweetland. It rapidly transformed into a gnostic-like hierarchy with orders of Brothers and Sisters and Acolytes, although it claims social equality for all.
Origin story
This religion began on Earth as an RPG, but quickly spread to Torzucan (Sweetland).
Beliefs & Teachings:
A religion of Science, consisting of a conglomeration of Myths from multiple Earth religions as interpreted through gnosticism. Truth will be revealed when the veil of ignorance and denial is lifted, and humanity will be elevated to the stars.

Official Hierarchy of the Temple:
- Order of Sofia are the primary category of the Temple hierarchy, distinguished by red robes,
- Order of Zoë represent science and wear green robes,
- Order of Eve are teachers, represent knowledge and wear white robes,
- Order of Magdalene represent nurturing and wear blue robes.
