Broken Axle Butte, elevation 4,568 feet, is the site of an abandoned fire watch in the heavily forested area of eastern Wilbur County.
About five miles north of Germaine, Oregon, in Wilbur County, Dead Mule Butte is near the old Van Bibber Mill. Nine Mile Creek runs near the north boundary of Wilbur County, Originating in the Ochocos and eventually feeding into the North Fork of the Crooked River. Near the village of Nine Mile, it forms a natural lake, Lake Germaine, which is a recreational tourist destination.
